Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you, the merchant who installs the app on a Shopify store, and ItsCOD, the developer of ItsCOD: COD Fee & Partial COD ("the app", "we", "us"). By installing or using the app you accept these Terms. If you don't agree with them, don't install or use the app.

2. The service

The app shows a Cash on Delivery fee at checkout and on product pages and adds it to orders paid with Cash on Delivery. It also lets buyers pay a deposit online, with the balance recorded on the order as due on delivery. You set the fees, deposits, rules and widget design in the app. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

3. Your account and eligibility

• You must run a Shopify store in good standing and follow Shopify's own Terms of Service.
• You are responsible for everyone you give access to your store and, through it, to the app.

4. The fees and deposits you charge

• You decide the COD fees and deposits your customers pay. You are responsible for making sure they are legal in the markets you sell to and that your taxes, refunds and returns handle them correctly.
• The app shows the fee and the deposit to buyers on the product page and at checkout. You are responsible for any other notice your law requires.
• We are not a payment provider. Deposits are paid through your own Shopify checkout and payment providers, and you or your courier collect the balance on delivery.

5. Plans and billing

• The free Starter plan includes 50 COD orders a month. Paid plans add more COD orders and features. Current prices and limits are always shown on the app's Billing page in the Shopify admin.
• Paid plans are billed through Shopify and appear on your Shopify invoice. We never see or store your payment details.
• You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the Billing page. Uninstalling the app also ends your paid plan, following Shopify's billing rules.
• Usage resets every 30 days. When a limited plan reaches its limit, the app pauses (no COD fee and no deposit options) until the reset or an upgrade. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't reset the free plan's quota.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for anything unlawful, or to process data you have no right to process;
• try to probe, overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the app or its infrastructure;
• resell, sublicense or provide the app to third parties outside your own store;
• get around plan limits, billing or usage counting.

We may suspend or end access for stores that break these rules or put the service or other merchants at risk.

7. Your responsibilities

You remain the controller of your store's and your customers' data. Where required, you are responsible for mentioning the app in your own privacy notice, for the accuracy of the data in your store, and for any code you paste into your theme or notification emails.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its code, design and branding remain ours. Your store data and your settings remain yours. Neither side gets any rights beyond what these Terms state.

9. Service availability and changes

We work to keep the app available and reliable, but it depends on Shopify (checkout, Functions and webhooks) and is provided without an uptime guarantee. If the app is paused, uninstalled or unavailable, your store keeps taking orders, without the COD fee or the deposit options. We may add, change or remove features, and may stop the service with reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the three months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. Your data is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if you seriously breach these Terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
